About The Site

Normanton is home to our head office and is also the largest of our operational sites where we pack fresh fruit, salad and vegetables. Several of our Group support functions are headquartered in Normanton which include Commercial, IT, Finance, People Team and our Planning Teams.

About The Role

This role will suit someone who is proactive and self-motivated who enjoys working in a face to face, fast paced role with a real desire to learn. You will be an excellent communicator with good time management skills. We are looking for a highly organised individual who can multitask to carry out this role. You will work closely with colleagues throughout every function of the operation. You will require a calm & patient demeanour with an excellent attention to detail.

You will need to identify learning needs, skills gaps and new opportunities that are in line with the operational objectives. You will design, develop & create effective learning solutions to meet identified needs.

This is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with the hours of 7am – 7pm.

Key Accountabilities

  • Use effective coaching skills to enable learners to achieve learning objectives
  • Create and deliver the induction & operational training plan for colleagues – constantly reviewing and adapting it
  • To facilitate & guide new starters with training from on boarding throughout their career progression
  • Build meaningful relationships with leadership teams to bring them on board & gain full support
  • To co-ordinate and prepare arrangements for the delivery of internal training courses & training on process procedures
  • Delivery & management of the site induction program to ensure all new colleagues are suitably trained in relation to their new role, providing ongoing coaching & support during their induction period
  • Conducting training audits
  • Consult with operational leaders to receive feedback to understand & arrange any relevant refresher training as & when required
  • Delivery of key bespoke training sessions within a classroom and/or production environment
  • Maintaining accurate and easily accessible records and processes for all learning and development activities, ensuring that colleagues required to complete specific training are easily identified & followed up
  • Supporting operations leadership teams with all aspects of training related activities.
  • Providing on-site support for all external training providers, including any preparation and/or support during their time on-site (Plus any follow up/evaluation provision)
  • Engagement of key stake holders and delegates who impact the overall training strategy.
  • Support with any accident and incident investigations as well as any retraining or coaching required for any colleagues involved
  • Take part in the site Health & Safety meetings to support the delivery of the health & safety plan
  • Carryout ongoing assessments, coaching and support of colleagues and leaders to improve performance and maintain safety & legal compliance

What are we looking for?

In order to be successfully within this role you will need to possess the below skills, experience and qualifications;

  • A good standard of education
  • Excellent IT Skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of presenting to different audiences in an engaging & compelling way
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
  • Proactively work well under own direction and within a team
  • Able to communicate at all levels of the business
  • Has a basic understanding of training methods
  • Experience of delivering training and assessments within an operations environment
  • A talent for building meaningful relationships, listening & engaging with diverse teams
  • A keen eye for detail with the ability to maintain accurate records
  • An IOSH, CIPD or other teaching qualification (or you’re working towards it) would be advantageous but not essential
