  • 2 years contract/full-time (39 hours per week)

Your tasks:

  • Management of a portfolio of publicly and privately funded international humanitarian aid and development cooperation projects in the Middle East, Eastern and Southern Africa region with a focus on: Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon
  • Acquisition of funds from bilateral and multilateral donors (AA, BMZ, EU, UN organizations, etc.)
  • Selection, conceptualization, content-related and administrative monitoring and evaluation as well as quality assurance of projects in coordination with country offices in accordance with international standards and donor guidelines
  • Monitoring of finances and ensuring compliance with internal and donor guidelines
  • Establishing and expanding working relationships with Plan country offices and donors
  • Support country offices in program set-up and technical expertise as well as capacity building in program countries including project specific support, start-up workshops, trainings, etc.
  • Participation in the development of program and sector strategies
  • Providing regional and technical expertise to other departments within Plan Germany.

Your profile:

  • University studies in a subject relevant to humanitarian aid and development cooperation (Master’s degree or diploma preferred)
  • At least three to five years of practical professional experience in humanitarian aid and development cooperation, and at least two of these years in the “field” (preferably in countries of the Middle East, Northern, Eastern and Southern Africa)
  • Experience in project cycle management (PCM), proposal writing and guideline-driven implementation of public funds with national and international donors
  • Experience managing a larger portfolio with multiple projects and donors, as well as multi-country projects
  • Thematic experience in plan relevant thematic areas (e.g. child protection, sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth employment & participation, gender equality)
  • Willingness to regularly travel on short term and longer missions
  • Good written and spoken German and English language skills are required. Additional language skills (e.g. Arabic) are an advantage
  • High level of intercultural competence and very good communication skills
  • Structured, self-reliant, proactive and result-oriented working style as well as high stress and frustration tolerance
  • Very good MS Office skills
  • Ability to work in a team, flexible, solution-oriented and strong communication skills
