Position Summary

The Office of Inclusive Excellence drives UCI’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. This commitment is fundamental to advancing the campus’ mission as a public research university. To this end, the office provides institutional accountability, mounts training and education, conducts responsive research, and builds and sustains partnerships with universities and colleges that share this commitment. The mission is to establish UCI as national leader and global model of inclusive excellence, where all faculty, graduate and undergraduate students expect equity, support diversity, and practice inclusion.

Under general supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, the incumbent supports Office of Inclusive Excellence’s strategic projects, communications. Staffs and coordinates meeting scheduling for strategic planning, including UCI SEA Change quarterly meetings, APAC monthly and annual, among others. Develops and reviews analytics for assigned projects; Examines program performance and recommends policies to support broader engagement and achievement of OIE priorities; Arranges the dissemination of related project materials and communications, including surveys and data summaries. Reviews comparative evidence from peer institutions to inform recommendations and compiles quarterly reports on program action items and tracking outcomes. Applies professional concepts to conduct analytical studies or projects of moderate scope and complexity to address a variety of policy, research and procedural issues. Fully analyzes issues and problems, gathers data and information, finds and evaluates alternatives and makes sound recommendations.

Required

Minimum 1 year of experience in in data analysis, synthesizing evidence and evidence reporting.

Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment. Ability to function as a member of a team. Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for analysis, information management, and reports. Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail. Ability to independently gather required information to organize, and perform financial analysis assignments. Working knowledge of common professional office computer application programs.

  • Demonstrated skills in using PC computer, using Windows Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), email and calendaring, and internet applications in the execution of daily activities Strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred

Knowledge of UC policy and procedures in the areas of purchasing. Knowledge of higher education enterprise in CA.
