Make a real difference for those in need as a Nutrition Educator on our Snap Education Team to assist in the delivery of SNAP-Ed nutrition education outreach at multiple SNAP-Ed programs. The ideal candidate will be someone who can effectively present lessons on nutrition and health promotion to a wide variety of target audiences in low-income communities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in meeting Snap-Ed program goals by delivering health promotion efforts to target audiences
  • Engaging in a healthy lifestyle on a budget
  • Decreasing the risk of nutrition related chronic diseases
  • Assisting in development, planning, and implementation of nutrition education and related activities for multiple programs
  • Directing Nutrition Education Class Series
  • Representing SNAP-Ed/CFBNJ and participating in health fairs for agencies and organizations as requested

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science/Dietetics.
  • Bi-lingual language skills (English and Spanish/Creole) is preferred and prior experience providing nutrition education is a plus.
  • This position will have a varied work schedule that includes nights and weekends to meet the scheduling needs of partnering organizations and schools.
  • Candidate must have a car as travel to various sites is required along with the capability to carry bulk materials as necessary; up to about 40 lbs.
  • Technical aptitude (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential for success, along with a positive, can-do attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high degree of self-motivation.
