UPP (Un Ponte Per)

Overview

Un Ponte Per (UPP) is an NGO established in 1991. It has started its activities as “Un ponte per Baghdad”, right after the end of the war in Iraq, with the aim of organizing solidarity initiatives in favor of the Iraqi civil society. Later on, the intervention of Un Ponte Per started including Serbia and other Middle Eastern and Mediterranean countries. The NGO mission is to prevent new conflicts, protect human rights and support civil society, especially in the Middle East, through humanitarian and development programs, always supporting the local civil society. UPP is active in Iraq since 1991 and is regularly registered at National and Kurdistan Region levels.

UPP is launching a project aimed at:

Supporting CSOs in different governorates to acquire technical skills and methodologies to design and implement projects based on dialogue initiatives, while improving in governance and networking.

Supporting CSOs in organizing dialogue initiatives between civil society and LAs and collective action to advance in social, economic and environmental shared goals, supported by a micro-grants program.

Sharing lessons learnt, results and good practices emerged from dialogue initiatives and joint actions to facilitate replication of the most suitable practices/approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Foster successful implementation of the Hiwar project ensuring the M&E Plan is implemented and periodically revised, supporting the PM in the supervision of the activities and possibly delivering field visits
  • Select sets of indicators to track and measure, define data collection methods and develop data collection tools according to M&E Plan
  • Coordinate and supervise overall data collection (including in outreach), entry, analysis, quality assurance and interpretation, in collaboration with project staff
  • Manage, update and possibly revise the database on local CSOs and the activities of the Centers (method, software and procedures) in collaboration with the Coordinators of the Centers
  • Provide technical assistance and support the staff of the Centers (including trainings) to consolidate established procedures and ensure data are gathered and feedbacks shared
  • Deliver Monitoring activities (by means of the set up PMP) to support the PM and inform project decision-making (including the introduction of possible changes)
  • design the Evaluation components of the M&E Plan in collaboration with the M&E Advisor and ensure their implementation
  • Ensure data of each project activity, training or event are recorded and work on data entry on a daily and weekly basis
  • Report regularly to project team and partners providing overall and detailed data and findings as per progress of the activities, achievement of expected results, feedbacks and lessons learned (on daily/weekly/monthly basis) and provide PM inputs for possible changes
  • Design and draft M&E reports, studies and analysis and support the PM in the draft of reports for the donor
  • Support the PM in the process for following up the findings of M&E activities
  • Ensure a proper system of storage and recording of data and information is applied according to relevant principles
  • Contribute to design and implement possible Accountability and Learning mechanisms and procedures to activate alongside project development.
  • Support UPP office as requested by the Project Manager.

 


 

Education: 

  • University degree in Social Science or a related fields

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experiences in M&E, MEAL, Data Analysis and reporting.
  • Previous experience in programs supporting CSOs and local actors.
  • Outstanding motivational skills and ability to enthuse teams and partners
  • Understanding of legal framework of humanitarian operations, as well as gender, protection, social or human vulnerability issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues in a complex and rapidly changing environment.
  • Attention to detail and preciseness
  • Patient, adaptable, flexible, able to improvise and remain responsive and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure
  • Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people.
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and gender sensitivity.
  • Must have a valid driving license.

Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Self-reliant and able to work independently.
  • Literacy in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Personal integrity and credibility
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Reporting skills

 

Languages:

Excellent communication skills verbal and written Arabic and English. Kurdish is an asset.
