Organizational Scope & Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager and the direct supervision of the
Senior Migrant Protection Assistant – Direct Assistance, the successful candidate will provide
general assistance to victims of trafficking, vulnerable migrants and those migrants who are
vulnerable to trafficking. The Migrant Protection Assistant is expected to carry out his/her duties
in accordance with strictest moral and ethical standards and with due respect for gender and
socio-cultural differences of the victims.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1. Carry out interviews with potential victims of trafficking and vulnerable migrants for recording
general information.
2. Coordinate the assistance provided to each of the beneficiaries.
3. Prepare case management reports for each beneficiary in regular basis.
4. Ensure appropriate data management of beneficiaries, including entering data into IOM
databases on assistance and proper filing.
5. Prepare statistics, reports and analysis as requested.
6. Ensure the confidentiality of all beneficiaries.
7. Assist in organizing trainings on victims’ identification and assisted voluntary return and
reintegration.
8. Undertake other duties as assigned.
9. Perform other duties as they might be assigned
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in a Social Science, Psychology, Business Administration, or a community
related field work from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant
professional experience; or,
• Secondary School certificate/degree with a minimum of four years of experience in a
community related field work.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in working with governmental and diplomatic authorities as well as with
international organizations.
• Good knowledge of migration issues and how these may impact the vulnerability of a person.

Skills

• Strong Communication skills is essential.
• Strong knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Word, Outlook, Access and good
typing skills in English and Arabic.
• Experience working with Excel and databases.
Languages
REQUIRED

• Thorough knowledge of English and Arabic, both spoken and written.
