Job Details
Job Purpose:
- To oversee the PSS program in Sened and ensure high impact in its implementation in A’zaz & Afrin.
- To advise on program design and implementation, global standards and innovative approaches, staff and training capacity building, with the aim of building a cohesive, well-coordinated and high-quality PSS response.
Key Activities/Tasks/Duties:
- Lead the technical design of the PSS programs, projects, activities and sessions, in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- This includes assessing the current PSS, and PSS response capacities of Sened in A’zaz center.
- -Manage assessment sessions.
- Design, prepare, and plan assessment tools.
- Conduct assessment sessions.
- Conduct regular quality assessments of Sened’s PSS projects, and provides recommendations to improve structure, quality and project harmonization.
- To carry out individual sessions for beneficiaries who require intervention from a deeper level of psychological assistance, to work with cases that have mild to moderate psychological issues and disorders, and to carry out referrals to a psychiatrist or other referrals as needed.
- Provides high quality capacity building for PSS staff on core methods and practices relating to structured psychosocial support and group activities and one– on-one support.
- Provide technical supervision to related staff in PSS center in A’zaz & Afrin.
- Strengthens program learning, monitoring and documentation on PSS, in collaboration with the M&E team.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with networks and other stakeholders working on PSS to ensure linkages and alignment for Sened project.
- Contributes to future project development and proposal writing for projects relating to PSS
- Provides capacity building for Sened staff on protection topics, as requested by the Programs Manager.
- Check and review reports from PSS staff about PSS project activities and then send these to the direct manager.
Note: the above mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Other future responsibilities /accountability may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.
Required Qualifications (Education/Languages/Work Experience):
A.Essential:
- Bachelor Degree in Psychology or Psychological Counseling.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar position.
B.Desirable:
- Master Degree in Psychology or Psychological Counseling.
- Basic knowledge of the context of working with people with disabilities and ways to communicate with them.
- Verified experience in humanitarian work and principles.
