We are looking to employ you at the earliest opportunity as Manager (m/f/d) Institutional Partnerships.

The position is embedded in the International Cooperation Division of the German Red Cross (GRC) National Headquarters and assigned to the Movement, Institutional Partnerships and Learning Department. The department makes an important contribution to further developing quality standards, supporting the fulfilment of accountability obligations, and coordinating with partners and institutional donors on our global humanitarian aid projects, humanitarian-influenced development cooperation and the long-term capacity strengthening programmes of our sister National Societies.

The employment is full-time. This is a parental leave replacement, the offer is initially limited to 14 months.

Your tasks:

  • Monitoring strategic developments and funding opportunities of all relevant donors, especially at EU level (mainly DG ECHO/ DG INTPA/ DG NEAR) as well as in Germany (mainly the Federal Foreign Office and the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development)
  • Coordinating the cooperation with IFRC and other EU National Societies within the framework of a global Pilot Programmatic Partnership funded by DG ECHO, as well as coordinating the corresponding processes within the GRC.
  • Coordination and technical exchange with other EU National Societies, IFRC and the Red Cross EU Office on relevant developments in humanitarian and development policy issues and resource mobilisation
  • Preparing and communicating funding guidelines and formats of donors for the regional and thematic units
  • Coordination and quality assurance of project applications and reports in coordination with the relevant technical and country manager
  • Monitoring policy developments at the European level and in Germany and preparation within the scope of presentations and statements
  • Active participation in fora and committees on strategic issues of humanitarian aid and development cooperation at the European level and in Germany
  • Coordination and professional exchange, in particular with other EU National Societies and with other aid organisations on questions of institutional funding agencies
  • Monitoring and processing reviews and audits of donor-funded projects

Your profile:

  • Relevant university/technical college degree
  • Very good knowledge of the formal requirements and thematic priorities of European donors in humanitarian aid and development cooperation; knowledge of German donors is an advantage
  • Several years of experience in applying for and reporting on donor-funded projects
  • Good knowledge of the international cooperation work of the German Red Cross, the international Red Cross and Red Crescent movement as well as the international humanitarian system
  • Ability to quickly grasp and analyse complex issues, and a structured and proactive approach to work
  • Strong team skills as well as coordination and organisational skills and a high degree of flexibility
  • Fluency in English, good French or Spanish skills are an advantage
  • Willingness to travel abroad, ability to work in tropical regions
