Women for Women International (WfWI) has an immediate opening for Manager, Financial Analysis and Reporting.

The location for this position is flexible with a preference for candidates from a region where WfWI currently works (Nigeria, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Afghanistan, South Sudan, United States, United Kingdom, or Germany)

The Finance department is responsible for grants financial analysis and reporting. Understanding the complexities of grants financial management, the finance department provides the necessary tools that ensure data accuracy for decision making and reporting.

Purpose:

This position will report to the Director, Global Finance and Compliance, with a dotted line to the Sr. Director of Finance and is a member of the Financial Grants Analysis team in the Finance Department.

The Financial Analysis and Reporting Manager will be responsible for supporting the budgeting, financial grants management, accountability, and reporting. The Manager will provide detailed institutional and grant budget monitoring tools, help strengthen reporting system and process development, training and support.

The applicant must demonstrate strong experience in financial grants analysis including development and management of budget monitoring tools, capacity building, grants compliance and grants reporting. The essential functions of this position include coaching, advising, and enforcement. The position requires high proficiency in financial software Sage Intaact and Workforce Adaptive Planning, as well as the ability to analyze large amounts of data in Excel.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Budget Management (60%)

Institutional Budgeting**

  • Develop annual budget development templates in coordination with the Sr. Director of Finance and the Global Programs Unit.
  • Provide direct support on annual institutional budgeting to Country offices (CO) and Global Service Centre (GSC). Coordinating with GSC budget owners and CO finance managers to enable annual budgets in line with funding sources requirements as applicable.
  • · Work with GSC departments and CO to train and troubleshoot issues regarding budgeting templates.
  • Assist in the budget reconciliation between annual operation plan and submitted annual budgets from CO’s.
  • Work with the Global Program Unit and Country Finance Managers on the consolidation of the WfWI’s annual budgets for each country. Monitor all changes of the budgets and maintain the latest versions of budgets in different One Drive folders.
  • Upload budgets onto the WfWI accounting software and the reporting tool.
  • Assist the Sr. Director of Finance in the preparation of budget analytics for the Leadership Team (LT) and the global board.

Proposal Budget Development

  • Work with the Associate Director, Financial Analysis and Reporting to review and update proposal budget templates with necessary dashboard information for decision making
  • Work with proposal budget developers to train troubleshoot issues regarding proposal budget templates, including mapping to donor templates

Budget Monitoring**

  • Responsible for development and management of the budget monitoring tool (Spending plan), including coordination of budget updates, expense forecasts, exchange rates and link to donor reporting template.
  • Be responsible for the budgeting and reporting tool as a power user/administrator
  • Update the List of Active Projects on a monthly basis with the relevant grant information and communicate with Accounting ODC allowance and IDC rates.
  • Coordinate with relevant GSC GPU staff to track monthly Level of Effort (LOE)

Reporting (30%)

  • Assist the grants analysis team in the Creation of internal and donor financial reporting templates
  • Assist the grants analysis team with the production of monthly internal financial activity-based reports using excel reporting templates and preparing monthly program financial analysis
  • Assist the grants analysis team with producing timely and accurate required and ad hoc financial donor reports in compliance with donor financial requirements.
  • Update the Consolidation workbooks/schedules using the various budgets and the data from Intacct
  • Assist the Director of Finance in producing timely board reports

Capacity Building (10%)

  • Ensure training in budgeting and reporting tool for the country offices and other stakeholders including trouble shooting and back up support during absence.
  • Identify capacity building needs on reporting tools and ensure relevant trainings are conducted.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Undergraduate/First degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 4 -7 years of successful experience in Grants Financial Analysis and Reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability and proficiency to create meaningful financial reports using advanced Excel required.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff across a multi-cultural, multi-layer, multi-discipline organization
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in accounting and budgeting and reporting tools**
