Description Of The Position

The Manager, Community Partnerships is part of a dynamic team of fundraisers assisting the community hosting their own events, raising net proceeds for priority areas of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids).

As Manager, Community Partnerships you manage your own $750,000-$1000,000 portfolio of Community (Third Party) Partnerships. You are the primary relationship manager; developing, cultivating, and stewarding our supporters to continued success and growth. Many of your relationships will be with patient families or those with a strong personal connection to SickKids.

You are part of a passionate, dedicated team of professionals collaborating to deliver a best in class donor experience and achieve transformational growth in fundraising. This position reports directly to the Director, Community Partnerships.

You Will

  • Initiate, maintain and grow relationships with donors, community event organizers or other charitable partners;
  • Provide enhanced relationship management and strategic thinking to extend and grow fundraising efforts for our largest event donors;
  • Develop annual strategic business and financial plans for your portfolio;
  • Develop compelling proposals to drive long-term gift agreements and secure annual commitment to SickKids Foundation;
  • Work closely with the appropriate Foundation teams with regard to gift administration, marketing and public affairs, research, proposal development, stewardship;
  • Cultivate effective relationships within the hospital to support program alignment, proposal development, volunteer opportunities, donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship;
  • Identify opportunities to grow and retain existing business through strategic development and execution of individual and departmental initiatives;
  • Participate in the planning, analysis and strategy of the Community Partnerships Team including providing input into team processes, plan administration, system and program implementation and follow up of event funds.

Required Skills

While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:

  • Someone with a post-secondary certificate/diploma in Fundraising, Non-Profit Management or another related field;
  • Someone with exceptional fundraising and Relationship Management skills with minimum 5 years of direct fundraising experience, preferably in third party event fundraising;
  • Knowledgeable of Blackbaud products, Raiser’s Edge, Convio/Team Raiser, One Cause or other online fundraising platforms experience and understanding of systems
  • Knowledgeable of Canada Revenue Agency receipting guidelines;
  • Able to understand and respond to various levels of expectations from diverse stakeholders;
  • Experienced with volunteer management;
  • Someone with strong project management skills;
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented;
  • Able to manage multiple projects with various timelines and handle competing and changing priorities;
  • Someone with superior written and oral communication & presentation skills;
  • Someone who has displayed sound decision-making and judgment;
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Someone who has demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and flexibility

Total Compensation Package

SALARY RANGE: $78,481- $114,734

To help you lead in the fight for kid’s health and to support your health, wellness, and career growth, in addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefit package and flexible work arrangements.

HOURS: 35 Hours – work week, flexible work arrangements are available

(Occasional evening and weekend work required)
