Location: UK with flexible working Contract: Permanent Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Purpose of role
The Planning Monitoring and Reporting (PMR) team are keen to hire a proactive part qualified or qualified management accountant to join their team on a permanent basis in the UK. The primary focus for this new position is to produce first class monthly management reports across two portfolios. The reports being key to providing the management team with highly detailed information for decision-making purposes.
About the role of Management Accountant
The role encompasses the following areas with responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
Monthly management accounting – preparing monthly accounts for Sightsavers Group and Sightsavers Ireland; liaising with Subsidiaries Finance Manager to facilitate revisions in the production of the accounts for various entities; writing or running queries via Sun Accounting system; writing the commentary and analysis for the accounts; supporting the finance team to complete month end process prior to producing the management accounts; and collaborating with the Finance and Reporting Manager and Resource Analyst to present information related to grants and funding.
Data Visualisation – leading a review of the reporting format of the management accounts; looking for improvements; and investigating ways in which Power BI can be utilised to present datasets.
Financial Planning – collaborating with the PMR team on organisational planning.
Special Projects – leading on projects that involve reviewing and improving current ways of working and processing data, and proactively suggesting refined ways of working.
Knowledge, skills and experience for the Management Accountant role
Essential:
- Part qualified or qualified management accountant, ACCA/CIMA with proven work experience within the UK
- Experience and understanding of organisational financial management
- Knowledge of accounting ERP systems and reporting tools, preferably SUN Accounts and Vision
- Experience and understanding of donor relationships and grant proposal development
- Experience in providing training or capacity building in organisations
- Current and ongoing right to work in the UK
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Advanced Excel
Desirable:
- Proven work experience within an NGO finance environment
- Experience of PowerBI

Interviews are likely to take place from 31 October 2022 onwards. This will be a two-stage interview process, first stage will be a written task and virtual interview. Successful candidates will then be invited to a final virtual interview.
