About Bark

Bark is the UK’s largest & fastest growing services marketplace, helping people find the right professional for their project in over 1,500 unique categories. The business is comfortably profitable with a proven model but has the feel of a startup with a small team of just over 100 people and most of its work still to do.

We use cutting-edge technology and an extraordinarily talented team of people to solve an age-old problem; how to find the best available professional for any job, every time no matter what the need.

We recently celebrated 6th place in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 of fastest growing private tech companies in the UK. With a presence in eight countries globally and imminent plans for further expansion, you can join us at a genuinely exciting time on this journey.

About the role

We are currently looking for a part or newly qualified accountant in what is an exciting and essential position in the business. You’ll have core technical finance skills, meticulous attention to detail, together with the ability to clearly communicate on month-end, business analysis and operational finance matters. This will be a varied and challenging role so we are looking for someone who either has both the commercial and operational experience of working in finance for a fast-paced, growing business that is trading internationally, or someone who comes from practice.

As our business goes from strength to strength this opportunity will offer a genuine potential to grow with an exciting, young company and be part of a team who are passionate about everything they do. We are an innovative, disruptive business, still at a relatively early stage in its journey – but now with the financial security of an established company – so that you get all of the benefits of working in a start-up environment (ownership, agility, responsibility) but without any of the going concern risks.

  • Contributing to the maintenance of a robust control environment
  • Working cross-functionally to improve efficiency of processes
  • Passionate about learning so as to improve your knowledge and expertise
