Financial Controller – Revenue and COGS

My name is Ann-Maria Levring Drews, and I lead of bunch of extremely talented individuals in our Financial Controlling team. We are a team of specialists who partner up with many key stakeholders across the firm and also with our coworkers in the 5 other countries in which Telia operates. The two open positions are newly created as a result of a large transformation program called One Finance. This transformation is currently underway in several Telia entities where we are looking to strengthen Financial Controlling throughout all areas.

In this role, you will be involved when a new product is being launched in order to secure that the financial flow from billing systems is correctly recorded in the general ledger and all the way up to our reporting system Cognos. If there are revenue flows that are not captured in the billing system you will be the person to coordinate the necessary booking with relevant stakeholders. You will also be conducting analysis on the revenue trend and defining materiality levels for deviation searches in period end closing.

If revenue isn’t looking as we had expected, you will be investigating transfers from our billing systems to make sure they have been completed. You will be responsible for the correct cut off in the month end closing when it comes to revenue and cogs and you understand the importance of keeping track of the related balance sheet postings.

The role includes, but is not limited to:

• Reconciliation of revenue & COGS accounts and the reverse postings in the balance sheet, so there is a full understanding on how postings in the P/L affects the balance sheet.
• Secure invoice revenue flow from billing system to SAP
• Secure data flow from vendors
• System reconciliation between SAP BI and the billing system Fokus
• System reconciliation between Fokus, R2R and SAP BI
• Ensure data alignment across systems
• Perform ongoing analysis of revenue & COGS to explain deviations
• Analyzing revenue flow for all legacy systems
• Month end closing including posting of journals in SAP
• Posting and reconciliation of accruals
• Responsible for IFRS15 postings
• Prepare material for external audit in collaboration with revenue assurance
• Secure correct VAT handling related to invoicing of revenue & cogs
• Attend in IT-projects related to revenue and cogs

As a person you are analytical, structured and has a good ability to communicate at times complex information to others. Working towards deadlines comes naturally to you, and you can deliver on the tasks assigned to you. The ability to see the big picture and also to be motivated to dive into the details goes a long way. And finally, the ability to collaborate and build relationships with your key stakeholders, such as our Data & Analytics Team, Billing Team and local/group Finance will support you in your growth here at Telia.

Your Experience:

• Master’s degree in economics
• 3+ years of experience from a similar role in Telco
• Excellent accounting skills (book-keeping experience)
• Experience with audit and reconciliation of accounts
• SAP BI & SAP BW
• SAP S4/Hana
• Excellent excel skills
• Cognos skills
• SQL skills is an advantage
• You are proficient in English both orally and in writing
