Job Summary

Carries out the mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs of various types of electrical, static & rotating equipment at company facilities such as diesel generator sets, fire water pumps, centrifugal, reciprocating pumps, progressive cavity pumps, gear boxes, loading arms, safe racks, air compressors, nitrogen generation units, steam boilers and fin fan coolers, soft starters at MCC units, HVAC, electrical heat tracing, DC battery systems & charging stations. This includes regular monitoring and rectification of defective equipment

This includes regular monitoring and rectification of defective equipment, disassembly, repair and reassembly of equipment and assisting in the installation and testing of new machinery. Duties carried out independently or under instructions, the complete or partial overhaul of plant equipment.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring the duties of their position are performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
• Performs preventive/predictive maintenance procedures on equipment, performs inspections required by company.
• Always maximize the reliability & availability of plant equipment.
• Carries out routine maintenance on rotating equipment, carries out visual checks of seals for leaks, disassembles equipment, replaces parts as directed, cleans equipment, replaces packing and gaskets, repairs as appropriate, checks bearings and reassembles. Ensures correct alignment and tolerances, using precision measurement instruments, such as laser alignment equipment, DTI clock gauges, micrometers, gauges and verniers.
• Carries out routine maintenance on rotating electrical equipment, carries out visual checks of motor control units, cubicles, power cables, gland’s terminals, electrical heat tracing equipment, etc. disassembles electrical equipment, replaces parts as directed, and cleans equipment. Ensures integrity of connections joints etc. by using proper electrical instruments as required such as electrical insulation resistance, electrical megger, etc.
• Carries out routine preventive maintenance of machinery according to schedules, check lists and specific equipment requirements. This includes changing oils, greasing, cleaning strainers and filters and general overhaul of equipment. Repairs and or replaces defective parts, reassembles overhauled equipment and carries out necessary tests and performance monitoring upon start-up.
• Assists in planning annual shutdown and major equipment turnarounds and carries out complete overhaul rotating equipment. Reassembles and tests equipment in accordance with requirements or tests schedules.
• General vehicle maintenance including engine/gearbox servicing, suspension overhaul.
• Assists in inspection of equipment for its healthiness.
• Strict adherence to plant safety protocols, permit to work system (PTW) and good housekeeping requirements. Adhere to the work management process of company procedures.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Minimum).
• Experience 3-5 years of hands on experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance of rotary equipment in Oil / Gas / Petrochemical industry, which includes preventive, corrective and shutdown maintenance of the following equipment Diesel Engines, fire water pumps, centrifugal pumps, HP centrifugal compressor (multistage, horizontally split/barrel type, integrally geared) and other equipment.
