Role and Responsibilities
Generic responsibilities .
- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Assist a range of support with the implementation of the CC portfolio according to plan of action
- Implements independently procedures and activities within own function or core competency as delegated
- Responsible for organising and delivery of tasks in line with priorities and standards
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the specialist area of work in which technical assistance and support is being provided, in order to be most effective in supporting the team
- Use initiative in day to day problem solving in line with agreed procedures, priorities and standards for the area of work
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of documents
- Promote and share ideas for improvement in your area of expertise.
Specific responsibilities:-
- Assist the project officer and team in preparing agriculture inputs packages.
- Assist the project officer and team in the field to organize the training sessions for the farmers in the Demo Plots.
- Assist the team in data collection and consolidation.
- If needed lead incentive workers in implementing livelihood and Agriculture Value Chain Activities in the field as per work plan.
- Assist the Project team in conducting needs and market assessments questionnaires through Focus Group Discussions, household surveys, and Key Informant Interviews, with assistants and enumerators
- Responsible for the farmers’ mobilization at the field level to increase the membership in farmer Alliances/groups.
- Assist the team in organizing ToT (Training of Trainers) and training multiplications in the field for the farmers and youth.
- Raise procurement requisition as per procurement and spending plans for the project activities.
- Assist the team in distribution of agriculture inputs assets, start-ups and other grants to the targeted beneficiaries.
- Ensure protection mainstreaming in implementation Livelihood and Agriculture activities
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Competencies :-
- Minimum Bachelors’ degree preferred in Agriculture/Agronomy/Horticulture/Veterinary or in a relevant field.
- Experience from working as an Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context.
- Knowledge and experience within a relevant administration, craft or technical field and ideally a relevant vocational qualification
- Experience working directly with vulnerable groups; able to demonstrate conflict-sensitivity compassion, discretion.
- Experience conducting vulnerability assessments.
- Strong understanding of the agriculture, and agribusiness context in Basra.
- Good Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and email.
- Basic knowledge of English language.
Other Information:
Contract Duration: 8 months
Duty Station: Basra – Iraq
Health Insurance is provided.
Salary: G4/S1, according to NRC’s Iraq salary scale and terms and conditions.
