The Opportunity

The Livelihoods Officer is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementing of Livelihoods interventions that implemented by Save the Children International (SCI) in line with SCI policies and Standards of Operations (SOPs). The livelihoods Officer is expected to play a leading role in supervising the livelihoods activities for refugee youth and adults in Greater Cairo. He/ She has significant responsibility building the capacities and providing technical support to SCI team and the partners NGOs to ensure the quality of livelihoods activities implementations. He/ She is accountable for monitoring the quality of field activities ensuring delivery of timely results, establishing good relationship with different stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of work experience on social and economic empowerment of youth.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Previous experience in livelihood projects.
  • Previous experience in working with NGOs and partnerships
  • Experience with Child Rights and Child Rights Programming
  • Previous experience working with refugees is a must.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching
  • Highly developed facilitation and capacity building skills
  • Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets
  • Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and

ensuring buy in.

  • Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner
  • Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with

incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies

  • Fluency in Arabic and workable communication and writing skills in English language are

required
