JOB PURPOSE:

The position holder is responsible to lead the WFP Livelihood project implementation in Borno State. The position holder is expected to work closely with all the Field Coordinators on the livelihood project implementation, other projects colleagues, and all the stakeholders in Borno State for effective project implementation. The position holder will provide guidance and support to the Livelihood team in Borno State, as well as ensuring proper coordination with the Nutrition and Food Security projects, other INTERSOS projects, sectors, and other organizations. The position holder is also expected to provide a consistent and high-quality technical support in the project implementation and will assist all the Field Coordinators, and other staff in Borno State to build an efficient work routine that meets the donor and INTERSOS internal expectations. The position holder will be wholly accountable for the WFP Livelihood project activities in the Borno State under direct supervision of Food Security & Livelihood Project Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the management and implementation of the Livelihood projects funded by WFP in accordance to the Field Level Agreement at the field level.
  • Lead implementation of Livelihood activities using appropriate INTERSOS and WFP project management tools.
  • Lead in planning, implementation, monitoring of the WFP Livelihood project activities in Borno State.
  • Ensure the use of a good beneficiary selection criteria and approaches;
  • ensure all the tactical plans for all the Livelihood projects activities in Borno State are developed and followed.
  • Ensure field level activities are set up efficiently using the INTERSOS program Integration model to promote malnutrition prevention, enhance food security and build community resilience.
  • Oversee programme implementation quality in accordance with INTERSOS and Donor policies, and the generally accepted best practices.
  • Support cross-sectoral periodic programme reviews to assess programme progress, capture lessons learnt and adapt programme strategies as necessary in accordance with INTERSOS Project appraisal Tool (PAT).
  • Analyze and report the humanitarian needs and provide clear and detailed recommendations for intervention.
  • Develop appropriate targeting criteria and mechanisms to ensure the needs of identified vulnerable groups are met.
  • Ensure protection and gender are mainstreamed in all the Livelihood project activities.
  • Ensure community involvement in all phases of the project cycle.
  • Prepare and submit the monthly project progress report, quarterly, case studies, success story, publications etc.
  • Presentation of monthly Livelihood project progress report
  • Shares the daily, weekly & monthly reports in a timely manner with WFP.
  • Conducting above tasks and any other tasks requested by line manager.
  • Implement other tasks as might be required with relation to the INTERSOS Country Program in Nigeria.
  • Conduct duties strictly in accordance with INTERSOS Code of Conduct and the principle of confidentiality.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSc Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience at national level project implementation position in a humanitarian context;
  • Thorough technical Livelihood knowledge of WFP project;
  • Ability to deliver high quality work within tight deadlines;
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
  • Experience in leadership and problem solving;
  • Fluency in English, Hausa;
  • Experience in working in complex and volatile contexts;
  • Capacity to adapt to basic living conditions;
  • Ability to put up with job pressure;
