Lead Test Analyst – SQL

What you’ll do

As our LeadTest Analyst you will manage and Implement full automation of the testing processes for every individual record change, ensuring effective monthly tracking and accuracy of deployed solution. You will be responsible for future development of testing processes to ensure all future projects benefit from a more rigorous and less time-consuming testing approach. You will also reduce the amount of manual testing currently undertaken by introducing new ways of working.

Day to day you’ll be involved in a range of activities including but not limited to;

  • Develop, execute and maintain departmental technical testing processes to QA drug, code and decision support for all EMIS Health systems.
  • QA data provided by external suppliers.
  • Administer databases.
  • Peer-review other analyst/programmers work.
  • Create test environments for informatics.
  • Write and execute test plans covering both data and code.
  • Problem solve issues with both internal and external data.
  • Develop the strategy for AWS testing as we move our deliverables into the cloud utilising technologies such as ElasticSearch and DynamoDB.

What you’ll bring

These are the skills and experience you’ll need to set yourself up for success for this role, however, we’d still love to talk to you even if you don’t tick all of them:

  • Ability to work with SQL Server 2016 including TSQL, SSIS, and all standard maintenance activities.
  • Relevant commercial experience in a similar role.
  • Good communication and team working skills, this role is in part customer facing.
  • Experience of problem solving and principles and application of root cause analysis
  • Skills to maintain good working relationships with Group-Wide personnel and other 3rd party contacts
  • Flexible and able to work on a number of concurrent projects
  • An acute attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • SQL Server transact SQL.
  • TSQLt.
  • An ability to quickly understand user requirements.
  • Good team working and communication skills.
  • Any experience in working with AWS and related technologies such as DynamoDB and ElasticSearch would be an advantage.
  • A proven record in improving the quality of deliverables.
