About the role

Frontline AIDS is recruiting a new Lead to spearhead our HIV Prevention Advocacy work, at a time when HIV prevention is in crisis.

The successful candidate will have substantial expertise in HIV prevention, particularly for key populations and adolescent girls and young women, including knowledge of key areas like comprehensive sexuality education and new prevention technologies. A proven advocate, they will have a strong track record of achieving policy and funding outcomes from key global agencies and donors, as well as of working effectively with partners to achieve results at the community or country level, and will bring a knowledge of advocacy strategy and strong insights on ways to monitor and evaluate advocacy impact. They will also need strong research and policy skills, ideally with some experience of community-based research or monitoring, along with excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.

Leading, managing, monitoring and reporting on the delivery of Frontline AIDS HIV prevention advocacy portfolio, in line with Action 1 of our Global Plan of Action. • Working closely with colleagues and partners on the Action 1 team to implement national, regional and global advocacy activities that enable partner leadership, while also maximising the added-value of Frontline AIDS as a global convenor. • Identify and build new alliances and partnerships that may be needed for the successful delivery of Action 1.

Lead advocacy engagement with key institutions relevant to the HIV prevention advocacy strategy and work plan (eg UNAIDS, Global HIV Prevention Coalition, Global Fund, regional bodies etc) and with key governments and donors. • Closely follow developments and opportunities in the external policy environment and adapt the action 1 workplan and agreed activities accordingly, in collaboration with colleagues and partners. • Undertake knowledge and research projects that help to achieve advocacy goals on HIV prevention, to include work on accountability for HIV prevention in particular. • Work with the Communications Team to develop and deliver communications and campaigns aimed at achieving the goals of the HIV prevention advocacy strategy
