Project Overview:

The Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) facilitates seasonal and longer-term work opportunities for Pacific workers in Australia. It connects Australian employers with Pacific workers under the newly introduced Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme which combines the existing Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS) and Seasonal Worker Programme (SWP).

Role Overview:

The Labour Mobility Officer will support the operational activities required to process PLS and SWP registrations, support approved employers to recruit workers and worker mobilisations in line with the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Ministry of Employment, Productivity & Industrial Relations National Employment Centre Foreign Employment Services team
  • Provide customer service and undertake reception duties, responding to client enquires
  • Data entry for the Worker Registration and Recruitment Database
  • Support the recruitment and screening activities for the programs including administration and filing
  • Organise meetings with PLS workers and employer visits
  • Organise logistics for training and awareness sessions
  • Support procurement and finance administration duties as and when required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor of Commerce in Economics, Human Resources, Public Administration or equivalent (or with work experience) or working towards a qualification.
  • Experience in fast paced working environments, with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Demonstrates high levels of initiative and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills (Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Fluent in English.
  • Familiarity with the Pacific Labour Mobility programs

Salary is paid in accordance with the Fiji Civil Service Salary Framework (Band D Step 1-4 FJD 14,428-18,498)
