ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Internews is seeking a Project Associate for a USAID-funded media support and civil society initiative with the general goal of further strengthening independent media and civil society in Jordan. The Project Associate provides administrative and technical support for projects under the supervision of the MENA Media Team Lead. The Project Associate will be expected to perform entry level administrative and research-oriented tasks.

LOGISTICS

Internews has field offices in Jordan. Ultimately, this role will be based in Amman, Jordan. Wherever possible, we work to try to find solutions for international hiring that work for both the company and the candidate. This means that some of the particulars around the offer for a role will be dependent on several factors, and that the benefits and salary structure that apply to a position will ultimately be based upon the candidate’s location and where the role is hired.

Note: Hiring is contingent upon receipt of funding.

This is a term, full-time position, with an anticipated end date in March 2027.

DAY-TO-DAY TASKS will include:

  • Assist with project oversight and planning, including progress towards project deliverables
  • Assist in the review of partners’ narrative and financial reporting
  • Assist in preparation of key project documents (reports, subgrant agreements, internal documents): write, edit, proof, revise and assemble finished materials
  • Assist the project team with proposal development as needed
  • Carry out research as assigned and in support of ongoing projects and new initiatives
  • Track and manage personnel invoices, expense reimbursements, wire transfer requests and credit card reconciliation
  • Lead the implementation of personal service contracts and outside service contracts
  • Coordinate travel logistics, assist with visa applications, manage submission of expense reports
  • Assist with enforcement of procurement policy for purchase of equipment, software, and other products and services, for project teams as well as for project partners
  • Carry out research as assigned and in support of ongoing projects and new initiatives
  • Support the SAWT team in compiling and distributing project updates
  • In all duties, demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to upholding Internews’ Core Values

QUALIFICATIONS WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Required

  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to work in Jordan
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent
  • Relevant development experience, including internships and field experience
  • Superior analytical skills and writing ability
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven organization skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize with a shifting workload
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a multicultural and remote work environment
  • Ability to travel to support meetings and conferences as needed
  • Experience with MS Excel and Word

  • Fluency in Arabic
  • Familiarity with USAID and/or Department of State rules and regulations
