Organization background:
Olive Branch is a non-profit humanitarian organization working on a range of programs to serve the needy and vulnerable. Registered in Turkey. The Olive Branch works in partnership with several international agencies to support humanitarian aspects, build peace, and develop stronger societies by focusing on education, protection, livelihoods, and the empowerment of women and youth.
Nowadays, we achieve this with our dedicated on-the-ground team and are managed from our bases in our registered headquarters in Gaziantep, Turkey; Together they delivered and planned many humanitarian projects in Syria and Turkey. Olive Branch is funded and supported by individual donors and local and international NGO partners

Olive Branch is one of the three implementing organizations of a project funded by the European Union:

“Digital Space for Civic Space – Amplifying Voices for the Rights of Syrian Refugee Women and Children (DSCS-project)”.

The project focuses on Syrian refugee women and children’s rights in Türkiye and how these rights can be promoted through the involvement of civil society in the making, implementation of human rights policies at local and national levels. Outcome of the project Digital Space for Civic Space (DSCS) which will be achieved through the following three outputs:

(1) comprehensive digital data on civic, democratic, and civil society space across Türkiye and on individual human rights misconceptions

(2) reinforced and trained CS organisations (capacity building)

(3) advocacy campaigns

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Minimum university degree.
2. Extensive experience at least 1 year in translation between Arabic and Turkish languages.
3. Knowledge of the civil society sector in Turkey.
4. Demonstrated high level of professionalism and an ability to work independently and in high pressure situations under tight deadlines.
5. Excellent inter-personal communication.
6. Fluency written and spoken in Arabic and Turkish, and English would be an asset
7. Turkish citizenship

Skills and Assets:

1. Cultural sensitivity to the needs and priorities of different sectors of the CSO community
2. Teamwork and participatory process skills

Remuneration:

Will be matching qualifications and market rate. will include Tax, Social Security, Health Insurance and Stamp Duty as per Turkish law.

Will be hired as an employee of Olive Branch, with a short-term contract towards completion of the project described above.
