Are you looking for an exciting internship opportunity with one of the world’s largest NGOs? Then you might be our new intern at the Programme Platform Unit for the fall semester.

Who are we?

The Programme Division develops programmatic concepts and strategies relevant to DRC’s international operations and delivers support within these areas. It also has the lead in developing position papers on DRC’s key advocacy and policy priorities. The Programme Division hosts various global specialist lead functions including for DRC’s five core sectors: Camp Coordination and camp management (CCCM), Protection, Shelter & Settlements, Humanitarian Disarmament & Peacebuilding, and Economic Recovery. The Division is furthermore overall responsible for continuously developing and implementing DRC’s programme handbook and the DRC Response Framework, which articulates how DRC seeks to save lives, promote durable solutions and address root causes of displacement (DRC’s three programme platforms). The Program Platform unit is responsible for strengthening strategic program development, and systematically developing and effectively rolling out the DRC response framework. Furthermore, the Global Shelter & Settlements (S&S) Sector lead is presently hosted by the unit.

About the internship

The intern will have the opportunity to enable DRC to work more effectively with operationalizing the Response Framework by supporting the programme platforms – and in addition provide key support to the Global Shelter & Settlements Sector lead. The intern will support on communication, documentation, analysis and internal information management, with main responsibilities covering the following:

· Support the production and internal circulation of information on programme platforms and the S&S sector

· Support development and organization of events, e-learning modules, webinars and global training workshops

· Strengthen internal communication on the DRC Response Framework and its three platforms

· Support with maintenance, editing and upload of information to DRC Insite pages and Sharepoint

· Contribute to developing guidance and policy material for both internal and external use

· Fulfill some basic administrative tasks

We offer flexibility in the type of tasks, so you also have the possibility to influence the tasks, subject to what is relevant for your study programme.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to be open, curious and committed and to possess a keen interest in international relations (including displacement issues). All employees and interns in DRC should master DRC’s core competencies: Communicating, Taking the lead, Collaborating, Striving for excellence and Demonstrating integrity. In addition, the candidate should:

· Be enlisted at a university for a relevant education (international relations, political science, sociology, international development or related field)

· Be fluent in both written and spoken English (fluency in French is an advantage)

· Have good analytical skills

· Have good communication skills (written and verbal)

· Be comfortable using zoom, teams and have decent IT skills

· Have the required permits to work and live in Denmark

It is a requirement that you are enrolled in a university in order to be considered for the internship.

We offer

Contract length: 4-6 months subject to study requirements and further dialogue

Workplace: DRC Headquarters located Borgergade 10, Copenhagen

Start date: around mid-August. We can be flexible on the start date but prefer if you join no later than 1 September 2022 so that you can participate in our introduction programme for all new interns

Working hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, subject to study requirements and further dialogue. We offer flexibility when you have study obligations next to the internship.

The internship is not paid but we offer:

· 2,08 (unpaid) vacation days per month. The days can either be spent as you earn them or be accumulated

· Free lunch in our canteen (subject to our canteen being open)

· Free participation in our year-end party

Please note that if you do not have the right to work in Denmark (through nationality or existing work visa), you will need to apply for it if selected for the internship. DRC does not cover the costs related to your application for a work permit.
