Your role

Do you have excellent problem-solving skills to solve advanced Data Science and IT problems for our market leading data science model development platform? If so, you are the right person for this role. We are looking for someone like that to

• work on the IT implementation of the new Cloud based solution of data science platform for UBS Global Risk methodology team, and using machine learning technology to further improve on user experience of the platform.
• research and apply latest modern data science and machine learning technologies such as Apache Spark, Graph technology and Deep learning for our risk methodology data scientists.
• provide training materials and hosts training sessions for our UBS risk methodology data scientists on emergency data science technology and best practices.
• be a product champion on Microsoft Azure products such as Azure Databricks, Azure Kubernetes Services and application to data science.
• have good understanding of data science model development fundamentals, able to interact with UBS risk methodology to understand their business problems.

Your team

You will be part of the UBS Risk IT, RCT (Run Configuration Tool) and Model Services team.

As part of Risk Management, Run Configuration Tool provides comprehensive and sophisticated solution for risk model run and model administration and provides comprehensive model loss reports, enabling informed decision making and regulatory compliance. With an active user base of 300+ users spread across AMER, EMEA & APAC supporting 100+ active models across multiple Business verticals in Credit, Market & Firmwide Risks & helps the Bank to comply with BCBS standards & covering CST, CCAR, DFAST & Other regulatory compliances.

Your expertise

You need have completed at least four semesters of your bachelor’s degree or have obtained your master’s degree within the last 6 months, preferably in a MINT topic.

In particular, you have

• a passion for technology, we do not expect you to know everything, but you should be able to demonstrate abilities seeking tactical and optimal solutions pragmatically.
• proficiency in Python programming, Additional knowledge in R, Scala and Java is beneficial.
• academic or professional experience in quantitative finance or machine learning would be a key advantage.
• exposure to some container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, versioning technology such as Github, and GIT build pipelines.
• foundational understanding of parallel computing technology such as Apache Spark, Dask, Ray or In Memory Data Grid.
• fluency in English
