At One Manchester we are on an incredible journey of change as we redefine how we deliver solutions and services to our customers. The Comms & Marketing Team has a crucial part to play in our journey and you’ll be joining the team in a newly created role as Internal Communications Lead.

As Internal Communications Lead, you will be a trusted communications advisor, using your knowledge of IC best practice to turn business priorities into effective internal communication plans and campaigns that give colleagues a voice.

A creative communicator, you will bring corporate messages and colleague stories to life, delivering internal communication solutions that people take notice of and which enhance the colleague experience.

You will play an active role in nurturing our culture and developing our employer brand, positioning One Manchester as an employer of choice.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Develop internal communication and engagement plans and solutions that give colleagues a voice, so you are always tuned into what they are saying and can use this insight to shape the work you do.
  • Manage a range of internal communication channels and develop new ones to maximise the effectiveness of internal communication and provide opportunities for listening and colleague engagement.
  • Create impactful multi-channel campaigns, recognising the diverse needs and communication preferences of One Manchester colleagues.
  • Create high quality, engaging content that has impact across a diverse range of IC channels including the Intranet, email, video, print and social media.
  • Coordinate the internal editorial planning process, ensuring it is aligned to corporate priorities and synchronised with wider communications activities.

Critical Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required

  • Vast experience working in an Internal Communications role.
  • Significant experience of creating and implementing communications plans and campaigns.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, able to turn complex information into creative and easy to digest content.
  • Strong creative, technical and platform knowledge to deliver brilliant content in a compelling way across a range of channels including Intranet, video, print, digital and social media.
  • Experience of managing communications channels to get the best out of them and developing new ones.
  • Experience of using content management systems, social media scheduling tools and actively managing social media channels.
  • Skilled relationship manager, able to influence, challenge and present with confidence.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, able to influence, challenge and present with confidence.
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills, able to remain calm when juggling multiple projects and workstreams.

If you have any of the following it would be an advantage:

  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • Experience of working on culture and/or change communications projects
