The opportunity

Europe West is a region consisting of 39,000 users across 24 countries of which 10 is in Europe and 14 in Africa Internal Account Managers: Technology are the primary interface between Enterprise Technology and key business stakeholders.

  • The responsibility for this role covers the following countries:
    • Germany, France & Italy
  • The candidate will engage with EW technology leaders (i.e. the customer) and internal Enterprise Technology (ET) partners on:
    • Understanding the needs of the customer (in connection with new demand as well as performance expectations) and matching these needs with the solutions provided by ET
    • Help the customer navigate within the ET delivery organisation to facilitate effective and efficient operation of relevant ET solutions used within EW.
    • Account planning and prioritization of solutions brought forward during service adoption campaigns launched by ET (push demand) both from a needs and affordability perspective
    • Defining Member Firm specific investments, sharing the associated costs and driving compliance to ensure business case goals are achieved
    • Continuously assess the satisfaction with existing services
    • Understanding the cost implications of all ET solutions and sharing the required insights in a transparent and timely manner to allow appropriate decision making
  • EY is looking for a forward-thinking technology professional with:
    • Experience in Technology cost analysis and project management
    • An understanding the building blocks inherently associated with Technology infrastructure, e.g. Networks, Service Desks, Server and storage operations etc..
    • Experience working with business leaders to derive value from existing and new technology investments
    • Flexibility to operate successfully in a fast-paced and continually evolving environment

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with ET domain leaders to understand their solutions, challenge its fit within the EW landscape and advocate for change where necessary
  • Partner with the EW business leadership in respect of ET solution adoption, operation and associated costs and customer satisfaction
  • Partner with the EW Technology leaders in respect of solution cost governance.
  • Advocate for an understanding by ET domain leaders of the impact on the EW business when outages or incidents occur
  • Pro-actively report to the customer on the progress, including financial impact, of locally funded projects
  • Develop and drive execution of an Account plan by understanding customers’ key success factors and priorities
  • Strong ability to influence and shape customers’ expectations in solution adoption and roll out; balance the needs of the business and ET, maintaining fairness and objectivity
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization

The analysis of business processes, including recognition of the potential for automation of the processes, assessment of the costs and potential benefits of innovative approaches and, where appropriate, management of change and its implementation.
  • Structured Problem Solving: The ability to define, analyze, and address clients’ business issues.
  • Market Insights & Intelligence: Understand how to analyze technology costs and communicate its value to a business
  • Trust: Ability to establish this very quickly from competency, consistency and a positive intent. Politically very astute.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Ability to creatively apply IT to solve business problems, with a focus on customer needs and expectations
  • Passionate about enhancing employee experience through technology
  • Ability to operate successfully in a global multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to communicate financial and technical information to a diverse business audience
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A Technology / Business related degree; or equivalent work experience
  • 15 years of proven experience in a leadership position, with a minimum of 8 years in Technology infrastructure management requiring customer interaction.
  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL and project management

Language Requirements:

  • Fluent English and German speaker. Italian and French will be advantageous.
