Internship Job Title: Software Development- Value Chain Delivery NOTE: Internship is for Summer of 2023 You must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PHD Degree program at the time of the internship. This role is also not eligible for continued sponsorship. What is special about this team: The Value Chain Technology team is a group of cross functional technology experts who are trained to understand the inner workings of the supply chain processes and the many systems that support them. This group is highly motivated to enhance existing processes; correct production issues; train stakeholders on execution of processes & set up; assist production support teams as the last level of support; as well as author and own business process designs and work instructions for end users. This unique team works with many different cross functional partners across the many facets of the entire Amway supply chain so there are always new opportunities for building relationships and experience many learnings, each day. Our partners and teammates work in multiple countries, with various career backgrounds, increasing exposure to different cultures, experiences, and ways of working. Being a part of the technology group opens opportunities for learning deep system(s) process logic enabling these subject matter expert roles to influence better solutioning for process enhancements, global supply chain projects, issues resolutions and efficiencies. How would an intern contribute to the team’s success: Delivery Engineering (DE) team is in the process of building out our Devsecops pillar
- As a part of the strategic roadmap, we are looking at automating our testing , deployments and release management process by leveraging CICD ( Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment). The intern is expected to understand basic concepts specific to devSecOps as well as Devops tools to work on our code deployment process. They will work with the team to improve our overall release management & testing domain .The project will help drive efficiencies through standardizing processes with the use of technology and will be an exciting opportunity, full of learning and opportunities to shine. An example of a typical project is: In this position the resource will be reviewing the current roll out process for WMS and work on enabling branching system with Github for development work
- We will develop workflows to integrate Jira with Jenkins to automate the Cycle test cases and create Jenkins jobs for restarting the WMS application. This work will help the team to align with the automation initiatives for DE team, and set the foundation for the team going forward. What skills and background will be important to be successful in this internship? Desired Skills: Dev Ops Tools like Jenkins , GitHub , Jira and AWS code pipelines is preferable
- Cloud Dev Ops experience is desirable. Knowledge on Python , groovy scripts , Maven and Solar cube are a plus.
