Internship Job Title: Software Developer What is special about this team: The Amway ID team is a high performing, very collaborative team that delivers global authentication and authorization solutions to support Amway’s global eCommerce sites, services, and mobile applications. In 2023 a new authentication and authorization platform is being designed, built, and launched to global markets. The new solution will deliver a leading-edge login experience with capabilities such as social login, FIDO-based MFA integrations such as biometrics and passkey, a passwordless solutions. This platform is being designed on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to be scalable, reliable, resilient, performant, and secure. During development processes, the Amway ID team collaboratives with other peer teams such as eCommerce, mobile apps, cloud engineering, and security, to align on solution requirements and digital architecture. How would an intern contribute to the team’s success: As an Amway ID team member, you would collaborate with a team of Software Developers using AgileScrum methodologies to help design and develop new high value technical solutions to meet business requirements around end-user authentication and authorization capabilities. An example of a typical project is:

Update/Enhance ad hoc scripts – This project would involve taking the collection of ad hoc scripts and determining how to consolidate any reused code into shared libraries and or a framework. There would be no restrictions for how to implement this and the developer would be encouraged get creative.

Determine how our team can leverage our user events. Our platform generates numerous events, and we would like to see how we can analyze and use those events to make our platform better. What skills and background will be important to be successful in this internship? Desired Skills: Understanding of Software Engineering design principles an best practices. Experience with scripting languages (examples: NodeJS, Python, etc.). Exposure to one or more development frameworks (examples: ReactJS, Fastify, etc.) Exposure to one or more development languages. Demonstrates good problem solving, team collaboration, and fast learning. Has a genuine interest in cloud technologies.
