INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN SPECIALIST

Overview

The Instructional Design Specialist will create and develop eLearning training for programs throughout the Institute. The Specialist will work with subject matter experts to create engaging in-person, e-learning and blended learning activities and compelling course content through the application of tested instructional design theories, practices and methods. Will maintain and apply knowledge of best and emerging practices to develop and revise instructional materials, leveraging available and identified technology to meet and evaluate learning goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver a wide variety of trainings, learning materials, courses, and programs such as interactive e-learning courses, videos, handouts, training manuals, webinars, etc. for both live and asynchronous delivery using Canvas, Microsoft Office, Canva, H5P, and Articulate 360.
  • Test and load courseware and documentation to the Learning Management System, troubleshoot files as necessary, link internal and external content as needed, and manage corresponding pages within the site for clean, intuitive, accurate display.
  • Design and incorporate skill/proficiency checks, practice exercises, and performance assessments.
  • Update, edit, and maintain existing eLearning and other learning and development materials.
  • Communicate with faculty across the Institute, partnering with SMEs and others as necessary to accomplish learning goals.
  • Serve as an internal Subject Matter Expert regarding Instructional Design and Adult Learning best practices, as well as current trends and innovative new tools and methodologies.
  • Evaluate modes of training delivery (in-person or virtual) to optimize training effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Certification in Instructional Design preferred.

Education

Master’s degree in education, instructional design, curriculum and instruction, educational technology, or related field required.

Experience

  • Three or more years of applicable experience required, preferably in Instructional Design Systems.
  • Experience using Articulate 360, Canvas, Canva, H5P, and Microsoft 360 required.
