Milliman’s Milwaukee Casualty Practice is looking for student’s pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree to partake in a fall IT Support internship at their vibrant, dynamic, and growing practice.

The IT Support department provides all aspects of support to local and remote users. We are looking to add one, part-time, Fall intern to our team. As part of this team, you would have very diverse duties and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides Helpdesk support for comprehensive end-user systems. End-user systems include but is not limited to hardware, software, networking, and telecommunications. Support includes research, troubleshooting, testing, analyzing, and communicating clearly and kindly to the end-user (provide remote end user support)
  • Prioritize tickets based on urgency and/or priority with the information given
  • Completes thorough research and exhausts all possible resources when investigating an issue
  • Physically installs and configures new hardware, software, and systems
  • Responsible for physically relocating and configuring existing equipment based on user needs. Must be able to lift 30 lb.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Ability to physically install and relocate equipment, including but not limited to unboxing, moving with a cart or dolly, plugging in to network and power in small or hard to reach spaces. Must be able to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Creates, updates, and reviews documentation. Responsible for contributing to IT knowledge base
  • Perform work on-site in the Milwaukee office in Brookfield, Wisconsin

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge in Windows Operating Systems
  • Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Office 365 Suite
  • Hands-on hardware (desktop, laptop, printer, conferencing equipment, mobile devices) troubleshooting
  • Updating software and windows
  • Basic TCP/IP networking
  • Physical ability to walk around, climb stairs, push carts, reach up and down, kneel, crawl, and lift heavy items (up to 30 pounds maximum)
  • Candidate must currently be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in an Information Technology related degree

Compensation: The pay for this position is $17 per hour.

Schedule: Candidates must be able to work 10-20 hours per week (10 hour minimum) Monday-Friday in the Milwaukee office located in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This position is from September 2022 through March 1st 2023, with the opportunity to extend based on performance.
