Information Governance PHC Compliance Officer

Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit

To provide specialist advice and guidance in relation to all aspects of Information Governance for the CSU and all of our customers, with a main focus on the Personalised Healthcare Commissioning (PPHC) service. The role will be hub based therefore remote IG support will be provided to all customers via telephone or the Information Governance inbox.

To support the PHC IG Business Partner, whilst also working as part of the wider IG team, to provide advice and guidance in all aspects of Information Governance, with focus on UK Data Protection Laws.

  • To provide complex legislative advice and guidance in relation to all aspects of law which affect how information is handled. The post holder will need to be able to advise in detail on matters affected by UK Data Protection Laws.
  • To provide advice and guidance on the practical implementation of Information Governance. This includes supporting the development and implementation of organisational policies and procedures, including informing staff of their responsibilities.
  • To implement and ensure the delivery of the annual work programme for the CSU, with particular attention on the PHC function, ensuring that progress is monitored, and regular updates are provided to the Information Governance Business Partners to ensure plans remain on track. Any issues should be escalated at the earliest opportunity via the PHC IG Business Partner, and quarterly performance meetings with the Head of Service.
