Result of Service

The Individual Contractor is expected to deliver the following key outputs:
– Data analysis for the monthly Global Humanitarian Overview (GHO) updates
– Draft updates on pledge tracking for Yemen and Afghanistan (monthly)
– Powerpoint presentation on GHO for the GHO Annual Launch event
– Ad hoc analysis and information products, as required

Expected duration

Four months: 25 September to 24 December 2022, with a possibility for extension.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of the Head of the FTRM Unit, the Individual Contractor will have the following duties and responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of the monthly Global Humanitarian Overview (GHO) update, including data preparation, initial analysis, data visualisations, special features, and pooled funds feature stories.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly pledge tracking updates for Yemen and Afghanistan, including follow-up with donors.
• Assist in the organisation of the GHO Annual Launch event to take place in December 2022, including coordination with panel participants, Powerpoint presentation, and mid-year GHO status report.
• Assist in ad hoc analyses on specific emergencies, regions, themes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications: Bachelor degree + advanced academic coursework in political science, international studies, social sciences, law or a related field.
Experience: Prior experience with inter-agency appeals / Global Humanitarian Overview and working with Financial Tracking Service data is required. Prior experience in financial analysis and inter-agency coordination is required.
Language: Fluency in English is a requirement. Working knowledge of French is desired.
