The Program
The Fiji Program Support Facility (the Facility) was established in 2017 to support and implement Australia’s aid programs such as health, education, Australia Awards and governance in Fiji. The Facility also supports the Australia Awards program in Tuvalu. The Facility integrates cross-cutting themes, including gender equality, disability inclusion, climate change, emergency preparedness and response and civil society engagement, across sectoral programs. In particular, the Facility seeks to strengthen program outcomes by better addressing the needs of targeted beneficiaries including those who are often marginalised.
Australia Awards is a prestigious international scholarships program funded by the Australian Government. The Facility supports the Australian High Commission to manage the Australia Awards program in Fiji and Tuvalu.
The Position
The Independent Assessment Specialist/s will work in partnership to review, assess, score and rank the Fiji and Tuvalu applications for the Australia Awards Scholarships and Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships, in accordance with agreed methodology and criteria provided by the Team Leader.
The two Independent Assessment Specialist/s are responsible for quality assuring each other’s assessments of applications and providing the Team Leader with a consolidated, scored and ranked applications list.
The Person
We are seeking candidates with previous experience in the Australia Awards program and extensive knowledge and experience of the tertiary education system.
To be successful in this position, you will hold degree qualifications in a relevant field such as development studies, adult education or human resources management or equivalent experience and will have experience in undertaking candidate assessments against standard selection criteria.
The ideal candidate will possess strong ethics and be able to identify and declare all conflicts of interest and maintain confidentiality at all times.
