Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as the Humanitarian Policy Advisor, Financing inany existing SCI location

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Humanitarian Policy Adviser contributes to One Humanitarian Team work on humanitarian financing and plays a key role in policy development across SC and externally. The Humanitarian Policy Adviser will support SC engagement with the Grand Bargain, IASC, ICVA and other stakeholders on humanitarian financing issues, as well as our role as co-chairs of the CBPF-NGO Dialogue Platform. Internally, the policy adviser will work in collaboration with our Regional Offices, Country Offices, members, the Humanitarian Advocacy Working Group and other relevant working groups and teams.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Track record of developing and influencing policy, particularly in the humanitarian sector.
  • Good understanding of current humanitarian financing issues and trends.
  • Adequate knowledge of humanitarian system structures, donor strategies and priorities, and inter-agency dynamics.
  • Significant ability to produce high-quality policy documents (briefs, key messages, guides, etc.) with short deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow tasks and ideas through to completion.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills to tackle complex problems
  • Able to operate effectively and flexibly within an evolving portfolio of work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with colleagues in a dispersed, creative and multicultural professional environment.
  • An ability to mobilise people in a highly decentralised environment towards a desired outcome.
  • Outstanding organisation skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain high attention to detail in pressurised environments.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with a ‘can do’ attitude.

We can offer circa £43,000 per annum (If based in UK) with an option of flexible working hours. If the role is based outside of the UK, National T&C (including pay) will apply.

This role can be based in London or any existing Save the Children International office location on approval, provided the successful candidate has proof of eligibility to work from the preferred location.
