Here’s where you come in:

As the Humanitarian Accountability Advisor, you are a specialist with humanitarian field experience in accountability to communities. You will provide strategic guidance for humanitarian accountability at a global level, and direct field support to access resources and improve WV’s accountability to beneficiaries and donors. You will deploy to emergencies to help set up or manage field level accountability functions in emergency responses. In addition you will support responses remotely. There will be a significant external facing component to this position. You will ensure that WV actively engages in the CDAC network and fosters inter-agency collaboration at the field level.

Requirements include:

  • Degree or equivalent in social sciences or related field
  • Detailed knowledge of the content and application of key international standards relating to emergency work and humanitarian accountability
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of emergency program administration and program response (including MEAL).
  • Must be prepared to travel 30% of the time including up to two deployments of up to 6 weeks at short notice.
  • At least five years mid/senior level experience on work in the development or humanitarian sector with field application and experience; at least three years focused to enhance quality and accountability in emergency situations
  • Extensive hands on field experience including implementation of projects and programs
  • Excellent communication skills including facilitation, training and influencing
