We are hiring a Human Resources Manager to work with our Emergency Response team in South Sudan. We are looking for someone to lead all aspects of human resources, both strategically and operationally. These functions include recruitment, orientation, training/development, staff care, employee relations, and exit procedures. You will lead your team to provide front line human resources services for all Emergency Response staff in the area of operation. Come join our team and make an eternal difference!

A day in the life of a Human Resource Manager in South Sudan:

In the role of Human Resource Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Develop, amend and implement HR policies, procedures and systems to ensure that organizational and operational goals are met in a timely fashion. Ensure that all systems and procedures are consistent with the Field Operating Guide for Samaritan’s Purse and local laws
  • Manage systems, procedures, and implement the process for national staff as it relates to Staffing, Compensation, Benefits, Time-Off, Performance Management, Rewards & Recognition, Staff Care, Payroll, Succession Plans, Organizational Development, Training, Compliance and Record Keeping
  • Manage HR vendor relationships, such as legal counsel, health insurance, training and other contracts as needed
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all staff on HR issues. Coordinate with International headquarters on International field staff related issues
  • Provide supervision and guidance to HR staff members on daily work priorities. Mentor and train HR staff to increase capacity. Handle any issues that junior staff members are unable to handle
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree (M A.) from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, social sciences or related field or a Bachelor’s Degree and professional certification (PHR, SHPR, IPHR, or similar) and at least 5 years of experience in a senior position; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies (required); if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire.
  • Knowledge of South Sudan labor laws is highly preferred
  • Excellent skills in problem-solving and conflict resolution, crisis management, and training facilitation
  • Ability to work well within a team and build positive team spirit
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and work under pressure in a cross-cultural environment
  • Ability to plan, organize, manage time, and meet deadlines in an ever-changing environment

Job Location: Juba, South Sudan

Type: Full-Time

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Accompaniment: Unaccompanied

Travel Expectations: Frequent travel within area of service, up to 15%; required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
