Overview:

Educational Alliance is seeking a highly motivated and capable People and Culture Business Partner with experience in Talent Acquisition and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to join our fast-paced and dynamic HR team. In this role, you will play an instrumental role in advancing the Partner service delivery model. Acting as a consultant and coach to dedicated client groups, this role will build strong partnerships and deliver proactive HR solutions in line with Educational Alliance’s core values and strategic objectives. The People and Culture Business Partner will maintain an effective level of organizational literacy and provide guidance in the areas of employee relations, developing and delivering feedback, talent development, organizational development, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities:

Employee Support (40%)

  • Be a trusted advisor to the leadership team on all talent and people-related issues including attraction, retention, employee performance, and communications.
  • Build relationships with staff at all levels and be a trusted advisor in the areas of professional development, recruitment, performance management, benefits, compensation, and other HR functions. Elevate employee needs to appropriate HR team member for solutions as needed.
  • Implement employee relations strategies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Identify internal or external resources to support staff with conflicts, mediations, or other interpersonal needs.
  • Conduct and lead investigations related to employee claims and advise leaders, with support from HR leadership and People Partner as needed. Partner with HR leadership and People Partner in addressing complex employee relations concerns/issues.
  • Work with HR leadership and other Partner to create insights from data to inform process and program improvements and share findings with key partners to develop and deliver a plan that links to HR strategy.
  • Communicate with employees regarding various concerns, providing guidance and recommendations for the resolution of issues.
  • Initiate exit interviews and present high-level themes to management for continuous improvement.

Team and Culture Building (30%)

  • Utilize the HR Partner model to understand staff needs
  • Partner with the HR team to create policies/initiatives and launch projects that support each staff member’s ability to successfully contribute to the team and achieve the organization’s mission
  • Partner with teams and staff across the organization to ensure staff members understand and can utilize the HR tools and resources available to them
  • Communicate training and professional development opportunities to staff. Share knowledge on utilization and satisfaction of various programs
  • Create a learning culture, by encouraging debriefing after completion of significant stages of projects
  • Contribute to a respectful and inclusive work environment. Host events as needed to improve culture and morale
  • In partnership with HR and other departmental teams, implement change management plans that maximize employees’ understanding and adoption of new programs and ways of operating
  • Encourage and support employee adoption of new HR technology, programs, and initiatives

Talent Management (30%)

  • Partner with HR and senior leadership to understand talent needs that support our agency vision and future aspirations.
  • Develop sourcing and talent attraction strategies that will meet the goals of each unique role, leveraging a variety of tools and sourcing techniques.
  • Establish sources for a diverse slate of candidates for each role to drive the agency’s focus on increasing diverse representation and creating an equitable and inclusive environment for all.
  • Assist all candidates have a positive, fair, and consistent interview experience from beginning to end.
  • Focus on continuous best-in-class talent delivery and hiring processes, facilitate interview training across hiring teams, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Develop and execute campus recruiting strategy and manage all aspects of campus recruiting including calendar planning, registration, coordination of materials, attending (virtual and/ or in-person) events.
  • Collaborate with broader talent and HR teams to maintain and build innovative and efficient talent approaches and ensure we are optimizing the full employee lifecycle for our talent.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in Human Resources; extensive experience in managing complex employee relations cases is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Recruitment, Recruiting Operations, and Onboarding programs gained in fast-paced, dynamic and complex organizations.
  • Proactive and collaborative worker, able to ideate and manage new initiatives; demonstrating a hands-on and highly organized approach to all tasks.
  • Must understand and value the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in an organization and have a track record of developing and implementing strategies with impactful results from DEI programming
  • Experience working in a workplace that prioritizes diversity, equity and inclusion progress is strongly preferred
  • Deep internet research and networking skills that enable one to build a consistent and sustainable talent pipeline
  • HR Certification preferred (e.g. SHRM-CP, PHR)
  • Knowledge of employment law, compliance, employee relations required.
  • Sound judgment and discretion; able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Highly collaborative style and willingness and demonstrated ability to work in teams.
  • Demonstrate an awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and orientations.
  • High level of emotional intelligence including self-motivation, self-awareness, empathy, ability to give and receive feedback, and outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Contribute to the creation of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture that encourages and celebrates differences.
  • Ability to multi-task and be action-oriented; exercise independent judgment and decision-making.

COVID Vaccination Policy

Educational Alliance mandates that all staffers are fully vaccinated in an effort to protect the health and safety of both our staff and our visitors. New employees must be fully vaccinated by Monday, September 13th, and will be required to show proof of vaccination by showing their physical vaccination card or using the Excelsior Pass or other government-sanctioned vaccine app. All vaccine-related information will be kept private under HIPAA regulations by EA and its employees.
