The HR Advisor works closely with the Head of HR 54 Reasons and the broader People and Culture team to support middle managers through case management and coaching and supporting the delivery of people initiatives and projects, that support our Australian programs.

54 Reasons provides programmatic intervention for children and families in a domestic context. Australian Services has a cohort of approx. 550-600 employees who are geographically dispersed, in all States and Territories, in urban, regional, and remote settings. 54 Reasons supports children, families, and communities in areas of capacity building, early childhood, youth, crisis, and family support.

Where you come in:

In this full-time, permanent position, based anywhere in Australia, you will lead and support a range of people processes and workforce improvement initiatives by partnering with middle managers in our 54 Reasons division and colleagues in the People & Culture team. You will be part of our People & Culture team and report to our Head of Human Resources, 54 Reasons.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing generalist coaching, development, advice, and support to build capability of managers undertaking people processes, including but not limited to, ER/IR, performance reviews, disciplinary processes, learning and development activities and policy and industrial Award interpretation
  • Supporting and managing key strategic people projects for 54 Reasons to successfully drive change, increase engagement and/or innovation
  • Staying up to date on relevant caselaw that impacts the 54 Reasons working environment
  • Assessing people data and make recommendations regarding trends and continuous improvements
  • Providing advice and support on restructuring processes, ensuring legislative compliance and fair decision-making processes
  • Collaborating effectively with key stakeholders at all levels in the organisation

This role requires:

  • Experience in a broad HR generalist role,
  • A passion for the programs within 54 Reasons, and experience or an extensive understanding of the community services or not-for-profit sectors
  • Experience working with culturally diverse employees in a metropolitan, regional and remote context, and an understanding of current and historical social impacts on diverse groups within the community
  • Exceptional internal and external stakeholder engagement abilities, with highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, managing and providing sound advice to managers on performance issues, grievances and other IR/ER matters
  • Highly developed interpersonal and intrapersonal skills/understanding
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with high-level attention to detail
  • Sound ability to effectively understand, manage and mitigate risk
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management (or similar) and/or relevant experience preferred.
