Role: HR Manager Area: Leeds Salary: £45,000 We have an opportunity for a HR Manager in Leeds, LS9. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and will oversee the Human Resources function of a well-established manufacturing Company and a startup business within the group of Companies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking fast paced manufacturing group of Companies. You will also take responsibility for the management, learning and development of an Apprentice HR Administrator. Job Description:

  • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the business
  • Provide first line HR support, advice and coaching to the management team on all HR issues including employee relations
  • Monitor performance (as applicable) and proactively deal with any performance issues in conjunction with the business
  • Ensure all disciplinary and grievance issues are dealt with in accordance with Company policy and current employment legislation
  • Monitor absence issues and proactively manage as appropriate
  • Support with succession planning and talent management
  • Monitoring the return of employee appraisals, new starter check ins and collating employee feedback to the senior management team
  • Closely monitor and report on data relating to employee engagement, employee retention and turnover to the senior management team
  • Full management of employee engagement surveys
  • Carry out exit interviews and collate and communicate feedback to the management team as appropriate
  • Overseeing the full employment lifecycle (from onboarding to offboarding) with the support of the Apprentice HR Administrator
  • Maintain HR policies and procedures, ensuring that they continue to meet changing legislative and business requirements
  • Overseeing and benchmarking the Company’s reward and benefits packages
  • Adhoc project work as and when required The Ideal Candidate:
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working at HR Manager level
  • Strong knowledge of all areas of HR, including employee relations with a strong knowledge of Employment Law
  • Able to juggle multiple priorities and projects effectively
  • Level 5 CIPD qualified is desirable
  • Self-starter, able to work under own steam
  • Experience managing people
