SRD Overview and Mandate

Syria Relief & Development (SRD) is a non-profit organization providing humanitarian aid to Syrians affected by violence, hunger, poverty, injury, and displacement. Our Mission is to provide crisis humanitarian relief and plant the seeds of sustainable development for the people of Syria. Our Vision is to maintain humanitarian relief and mobilize resources to develop a comprehensive agenda for sustainable development in Syria, SRD offices in Gaziantep, Turkey, and in NW Syria.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Properly organizes all HR documents and staff files, ensuring all the information for each staff member is up-to-date.
  • Keeps tight communication with the HR Syria team, ensuring that all the information regarding the employees in Syria is registered and received under the close supervision of the HR Manager.
  • Ensure proper recruitment checking and documentation.
  • assist in coordination between Syria and Turkey teams.
  • assist in coordination between HR and other departments with the Turkey office.
  • Checking the monthly changes after coordinating with the Syria team to get them in a timely manner.
  • Checking Syria and Turkey timesheets and leaves and support to get it done in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing and translating JDs, and other necessary documents when requested.
  • Follow up on PRFs, justifications, and COSs checking and documentation.
  • assist the HR Manager in payroll preparation.
  • assist in conducting interviews, advertising as well as communicating with the candidates.
  • printing, preparing, and maintaining a proper archiving system.
  • Responsible for soft copy archiving.
  • Update the trackers as needed to be up to date.
  • Assist in building the capacity for Syria HR teams.
  • Responsible for conducting orientation for new staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adherence to other SRD policies.
  • Any other relevant tasks upon the request of the Direct Manager.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Education: University Degree in Human Resources Management, Business or Public Administration, or related field.

General Work Experience: 2 years of relevant HR and/or administrative experience is required at the national or international level; Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and experience in handling ERP-based HR systems is an advantage.

Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic are required, and knowledge of Turkish is desirable.

  • Professional user of Google tools and MS office;
  • Produces quality outputs in a timely manner when assigned a given task;
  • Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Remains calm, and in control even under pressure;
  • Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities;
