ELAF for Relief and Development.

Elaf RD: Is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political organization that was established and registered in January 2015, in Gaziantep, Turkey-Registration No: 27-019-083. With the fast escalation of the conflict in Syria, and due to the increasing needs of the refugees in the neighbouring countries and inside Syria, Elaf RD established Hatay offices in Turkey, and 5 Field offices in Syria which are Sarmad, Afrin, Jarablus Azaz, and Tell Abiad offices.

Elaf RD is dedicated to addressing the interconnectedness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and double nexus in an integrated and comprehensive manner. Our approach is centred around the double nexus, linking humanitarian aid and development assistance for a more effective and sustainable response. We are committed to providing emergency aid to the most deprived communities through substantial long-term solutions in addition to its work to improve the situation of both, the refugees and host communities by focusing on project development and improving the economic situation.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Explain human resource policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or applicants for positions in the Syria office.
  2. Prepare and maintain documentation related to employee activities such as recruitment, placement, training, complaints, performance appraisals, and ratings.
  3. Recording each employee’s data and preparing the employee’s file and papers.
  4. Examination of employee files to respond to inquiries and provide information on procedures related to employees.
  5. Collect employee records from other departments or employees.
  6. Search personnel files to obtain information on authorized persons and organizations, such as credit bureaus and financing companies.
  7. Conducting interviews with job applicants to obtain information used for their analysis, evaluation and verification.

Skills:

  • Human Resources: Knowledge of the principles and procedures related to staff recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation with them, and personnel information systems.

  • English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.

  • Management : Knowledge of the principles of management and business related to the general planning of the workflow of the human resources department in the Syria office.

  • Computer skills: good knowledge of working on Microsoft programs and the ability to deal with electronic correspondence.

  • Safeguarding

    Children and vulnerable adults must be safeguarded to the maximum possible extent from deliberate or inadvertent actions and failings that place them at risk of abuse, sexual exploitation, injury and any other harm. One of the ways that ELAF shows this on-going commitment to safeguarding is to include rigorous background and reference checks in the selection process for all candidates.
