Our client, based in East Sussex, is currently recruiting for a 3x Housing Option Officers on a 2 year fixed term contract. Our client is proud to provide affordable housing across East Sussex making sure all tenants are accommodated and looked after appropriately and in a timely manner.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis with interviews commencing week of the 28/02, the annual salary for this role varies between £24-32k

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience working within Housing Options

Duties will include (but not limited to):
• Providing advice and assistance on available housing options for homeless and potentially homeless persons under the Homelessness Act 1996, Part VII, Prevention from Eviction Act 1977 and Homelessness Act 2002
• Carrying out section 202 reviews as and when necessary and updating documentation
• Providing duty cover on a rota basis and helping with casework
• Providing housing advice and making 184s decision regarding eligibility and suitability for temporary / emergency accommodation
• Arranging and securing suitable accommodation for homeless people in often very challenging circumstances
• Interviewing clients who are either homeless or at threat of becoming homeless, both in the office, in public or in their own homes
• Liaising and negotiating with private sector landlords and mediating between family disputes to prevent homelessness where possible

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
• Must have up to date knowledge of Homelessness Legislation, dealing with 184’s and 202 experience
