Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Specialist 80-100% (f/m/d)

Hitachi Energy, High Voltage Products is renowned worldwide as a specialist in components for power transmission and power distribution. Within the area of High Voltage Products, the Technology Center Switzerland is responsible – as part of a global development organization – for the development and optimization of products like Gas Insulated Switchgear, Generator Circuit Breakers, Surge Arresters, High Voltage Interrupter Chambers, Insulation Components as well as Control and Monitoring solutions.

In our IEC 17025 accredited high-voltage, high-current, mechanical climate laboratories in Oerlikon and our high-performance laboratory at the Baden site, we test switchgear and its high-voltage components in particular.

As HSE Specialist you will support us together with your colleagues from the HSE department at the Swiss and European site in the continuous improvement in the areas of occupational health and safety, as well as environmental management according to ISO 45001 / 14001 in the various test and administrative areas.

Your Responsibility

• Ensuring compliance with Swiss occupational safety, health and environmental regulations and implementation of Hitachi Energy policies and standards
• Supporting and advising all hierarchical levels in their tasks related to occupational safety, health protection and environmental management
• Conducting opportunity and risk analyses and implementing necessary measures
• Promote Hitachi Energy’s quality and safety culture and implement employee engagement programs.
• Investigating and communicating accidents and implementing appropriate measures to prevent further accidents
• Planning and conducting internal and external audits
• Conduct training at all hierarchical levels

Your Background

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety / health protection / environmental management or vocational training with a corresponding focus
• Bachelor’s degree or education with electrical engineering background is an advantage
• At least 2 – 3 years of experience in an industrial environment
• Professional experience in the implementation of ISO 45001, 14001 or 50001 management system is an advantage
• Strong project management and problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
• Fluent in German; advanced in English (spoken and written) an advantage
