Duration : 6 months – for pooling

You’ll contribute to ending world hunger by …

will lead and support the targeted typhoon affected communities who are in critical need in terms of health, nutrition, protection, mental and psychosocial support as well as those who requires official documents to avail most need humanitarian assistance. The planned activities will be implemented in close coordination with the consortium coordinator and consortium partners.

Key activities in your role will include

Objective 1: Improve access and utilization of Primary Health Care facilities in TY Odette affected areas

  • Support and ensure inclusive participation and effective coordination with local health authorities and affected communities related to repair and rehabilitation of health facilities to identify needs, resources, and roles to implement health results
  • Support the project engineers in conducting health facilities and risk assessments in areas damaged by TY Odette this include identification and replacements of small medical equipment, commodities, and supplies for health/nutrition activities
  • Support the project team in conducting market assessment for the replacement of small medical equipment, commodities, and supplies
  • Support coordination, planning, and distribution of the replacement of health/nutrition items upon completion of repair and rehabilitation of health facilities
  • Mobilization of communities for the re-opening and turn-over of repaired and rehabilitated health care facilities
  • Identify other forms of support to ensure compliance to COVID-19 health protocols, IPC, and access to WASH-related to repair and rehabilitation of health care facilities.
  • Prepare the documents for turn-over of repaired and rehabilitated health facilities
  • Collect and update data on access and utilization of health services by beneficiaries.

Objective 2: Effective Coordination, collaboration, and synergies with other sectors and humanitarian actors

  • Ensure planned activities are closely coordinated and consulted with local health service providers, community leaders, and clusters
  • Coordinate and ensure AAH’s sectoral interventions/activities are complementing each other
  • Ensure tools and approaches are standardized across the consortium related to health results e.g. tool to collect data on access and utilization of primary health services

Objective 3: Ensure proper monitoring and reporting of activities

  • Report to the Head of Project issues and challenges faced in the field and implement the activities and context related issues affecting the planned activities
  • Ensuring the quality of the data collected from the field
  • Make suggestions/recommendations to HOP on readjusting the program based on the results and the context, as needed
  • Coordinate with local health authorities and monitor access and utilization of repaired and rehabilitated facilities

Do you meet the profile required criteria?

  • University/college graduate in Nursing, Public Health, Nutrition, or other relevant health and social sciences degrees, and technical qualification
  • Technical knowledge in Primary Health Care, COVID-19, RCEE and Health Promotion in emergencies
  • Familiarity with Health humanitarian standards e.g. Sphere
  • Mobilization and support to health activities in emergencies
  • Familiarity with the local health system structure during emergencies including equipment, supplies, and commodities
  • Create space for inclusive participation of affected communities, particularly for vulnerable groups
  • Familiarity with the local culture, ability to develop respect from a wide range of people and strong ability to communicate on health matters
  • Experience of at least 1 year in a similar position
  • Excellent English and Filipino language. Can confidently converse in Cebuano or Bohol’s local dialects is an advantage
  • IT systems: With good working knowledge on how to use Microsoft Office package e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and TEAMS
