Your role as Head of Programme is to develop and ensure implementation of holistic high-quality programmes
In general, you will;
- Line manage Core Competence Specialists
- Be an active member of the Country Management Group (CMG)
- Ensure compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures
- Provide programme input to Country Strategy and Plan of Action
- Develop Core Competency strategies that are aligned to regional and global priorities and strategies
- Develop holistic and needs based programmes, including cash-based interventions and market-based programmes
- Identify funding opportunities, develop funding strategies and forecasts
- Manage Grants, BPO allocations and reporting to donors, including compliance with donor standards
- Ensure quality control, M&E and organizational learning
- Build capacity of all technical staff
- Ensure In-country representation
- Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Your responsibility will specifically entail you to;
- Lead on Safe and Inclusive Programming initiatives, ensuring that all programmes meet minimum standards
- Develop NRC Yemen’s strategic direction on Durable Solutions and build a portfolio of programmes supporting these ambitions
- Provide an enabling environment for the implementation of cash-based interventions, including multi-purpose cash assistance, emergency cash responses

These professional competencies will enable you perform in this role;
- Multiple years of experience from a senior management position in a humanitarian/ recovery context
- Core competency expertise; click to view our core competencies
- Knowledge of cash-based interventions and market based programmes
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
These context related skills, knowledge and experience will facilitate your ability to exceed expectations;
- Experience in complex emergencies and early recovery programming
- Arabic language skills an asset
