Head of People and Achievement – International Charity – London with Hybrid working

Morgan Hunt are delighted to be working with War Child UK to appoint their Head of People and Achievement.

War Child is the only specialist charity for children affected by conflict. For more than two decades War Child have been driven by a single goal – for no child’s life to be torn apart by war. War Child work with children affected by war in countries including Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic.

Reporting into the Director of Resources you will maximise the potential of War Child’s people, through the development and operation of the human resources strategy ensuring it reflects and reinforces their organisational values. Your key accountabilities will include:-

  • Leading the People and Achievement team in planning and delivering an excellent service to their country programmes and UK office
  • Developing , maintaining and evaluating their people and achievement policies and processes including Diversity and Inclusion practices
  • Providing up to date advice to all levels of management on aspects of people management, including leadership and management skills, employee relations, employee development, and wellbeing
  • Working collaboratively with counterparts in the wider War Child family
  • Playing a key role in any future restructures or change projects in relation to building a shared programme platform and stronger alliance
  • Building strong working relationship with the Head of Safeguarding, to ensure best practice HR standards are applied
  • Overseeing the maintenance and management of UK office premises including any office moves
  • Acting as an active member of the Extended Leadership team to support the delivery and development of the organisational strategy

You should be a senior a HR professional with a track record of developing and implementing HR policies and processes in a multi-cultural values driven environment. Experience of leading and coaching a team needs to be combined with strong project management skills, an excellent knowledge of employment law and a good understanding of compensation and benefits.
