£66,216.00 per annum

Up to 12 months temporary contract (maternity cover)

Plan International UK is a global children’s charity. We strive to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we’re tackling the root causes of gender inequality and child poverty, and we are now active in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Our Humanitarian Unit supports our country offices to design and deliver quality humanitarian programmes, assisting with the development of strong donor relationships, and providing technical support for humanitarian work. As maternity cover for the Head of Humanitarian you will:

• Lead the Humanitarian unit to secure funding for humanitarian projects and ensure high quality funding proposals and programme implementation, in collaboration with Country Offices and other teams in Plan UK

• Manage a high performing team of programme management staff, deployable staff and climate, environment and resilience, cash and voucher assistance.

• Provide leadership to the wider organisation on effectively supporting a strengthened humanitarian and resilience agenda.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate significant field experience in a management capacity within humanitarian response settings and have worked at a senior level in an international organisation. You will have experience within the UK and international donor funding environments and be able to successfully negotiate partnerships and programmatic arrangements especially in a humanitarian context.

We are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children, young people and adults in our work. We, therefore, apply rigorous recruitment and selection processes to ensure that only those who are suitable are recruited to work for us. Accordingly, appointment to all our roles is subject to a range of vetting checks and for this role this will include a Basic Disclosure. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working for us; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences

Plan International UK is committed to being an inclusive employer and we welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds
