Head of Global Partnerships and Mobility

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Global Partnerships and Mobility who will provide leadership and management support to the UAL Director of International Relations and UAL’s College-based Directors of International Partnerships in delivering the global partnership and student/staff mobility ambitions of UAL in line with the University’s institutional strategy. The role holder will be able to provide expert advice on partnership development, particularly in the area of Transnational Education (TNE) and support the efficient development of global partnerships and mobility.

This role will mean working collaboratively with College International Offices and academic teams to foster innovative approaches to delivering UAL’s ambitions for global partnerships and collaborative provision and will have a particular focus on leading the development processes, fulfilling a key liaison role between Colleges and University departments (eg. Legal, Finance, Academic Registry) while leading on contract development, management and business systems associated with global partnerships

The Head of Global Partnerships and Mobility will lead the central team responsible for the planning and delivery of UAL’s global student and staff mobility priorities including Turing/Erasmus + funded provision, establishing a first-class experience for students and staff across the central University and College-based teams.

The UAL International Relations Unit coordinates and oversees the development and maintenance of the UAL’s international partnerships and networks, transnational education and student and staff international mobility. The team in the International Relations Unit works closely with the College-based International Offices and other University teams with the shared aim of delivering high quality international partnerships and experiences for our student and staff teams.

Your profile

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally to Masters-degree level
  • Knowledge of current international education funding landscape including international mobility schemes
  • Current knowledge of issues relating to internationalisation, higher education development, organisation, policy and management both within the UK and internationally
  • In depth and current knowledge and experience of Transnational Education (TNE) including the planning and development of articulation arrangements, franchise operations, joint and/or dual award developments
  • Significant experience of leading and supporting international collaborative partnerships including transnational education (TNE)
  • Experience of developing successful collaborative bids for funded projects.
  • Experience in planning, costing and contract negotiation with international partners
  • Leading and supporting management of projects that require cross-departmental working
  • Experience of undertaking a line management role in a changing working environment
