Result of Service

A series of design assets including materials such as logos, hero communications, templates and basic guidance for staff. The selected candidate will support the development of those materials especially in the areas of digital content and help OCHA to transition from print products to more digital.

Duties and Responsibilities

The consultant will work with the DVU under the supervision of the DVU Head of Unit and with Strategic Communication Branch, under the supervision of the Head of Design and Multimedia Unit.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a package of design assets to implement OCHA’s new brand positioning including:

  • Support Pooled Funds annual report production, including creating lay-out, infographic and compiling photo bank
  • Support on production of Pooled Funds report template including redesigning lay-out, creating charts template, instruction and compiling assets.
  • Support Pooled Funds annual report launch and distribution, including creating social media templates and support field offices graphic consultation
  • Support pooled funds promotion, including creating infographic, social media posts and preparing graphic for web.
  • Support donor visibility recognition activities, particularly on creating social media post and other required graphic support.
  • Support information products creation for donor relations activity.
  • Support graphic production for CERF and other OCHA high-level events.
  • Produce and maintain microsite for Pooled Funds promotion, including microsite platform migration
  • Support on Pooled Funds visual identity development.
  • Support World Humanitarian Day design assets
  • Support the development of OCHA website and OCHA annual report website
  • Support DMU requests when needed
  • Participate in collaboration with OCHA designers.
  • Adhere to OCHA corporate visual identity.
  • lead design for unocha.org refresh
  • website design support for OCHA’s Annual Report
  • ad-hoc design support for OCHA clients

Qualifications/special skills

A first-level university degree in graphic design, marketing, communications or related field.
A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in graphic design, branding, marketing, information and communication technology, social media, or related area.
Experience with Adobe software, including Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop is required.
Experience with development of templates and guidelines on digital tools is required.
•Experience in the UN Common System or other comparable international organization is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required.
