Who we are?

IDA is an international independent non-governmental organization providing medical and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflicts, natural disasters and epidemics regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
IDA was founded in 2012 by Syrian doctors from Aleppo in response to the healthcare and humanitarian crisis in Syria.

IDA Syria is the main healthcare provider in Northern Aleppo/Syria area, working closely with 500,000 IDPs and 700,000 host community through 20 healthcare facility and other health and nutrition projects

During last year, IDA has provided 1.2 million services in Heath, Nutrition, WaSH and Camp Management

Responsibilities:
The Grants Manager is responsible for leading and ensuring quality programs/projects design, development, and reporting efforts and the relations with the partners.s.

Representation

  • Assist in the program/project proposals development process, with an ambition to seek medium to large multi-year funding opportunities for integrated sustainable programming.
  • Assist development of a grant management system in accordance with IDA’s organization system.
  • Act as the main point of contact regarding grants with donors.
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings with donors and report information to the supervisor.
  • Develop and manage the proposal and report development calendar.
  • Review the grant documents and advise the senior management on donor compliances, policies, and procedures as relevant and required.
  • Lead the development of all grant reports, narratives, and financials.
  • Hold regular meetings to review grant status.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required by the direct supervisor.
  • Developing the Grants department’s annual operational plan and tracking its implementation.

Representation

  • Represents IDA in all relevant a in relation to the position duties, e.g. UNOCHA, NGOs, and donors.
  • Adhere to IDA Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct and PSEA Policy

1. Professional competencies

These are skills, knowledge, and experience that are important for effective performance.

Generic professional competencies for this position:

  • Postgraduate or Master’s degree in international relations, Social Sciences, project management, and development relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the development/humanitarian sector/with INGOs and Institutional Donors/partnership-based programming and community-based programming.
  • Possesses ECHO, EU, DANIDA, NORAD, DFID, USAID/BHA, GFFO, and BMZ program management experience.
  • Good skills and experience in all aspects of program cycle management, design and development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Proven experience in field-level representation with key stakeholders and coordination with other INGOs/UN.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to think and plan strategically.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
  • English native speakers, Arabic, and Turkish language knowledge are desirable,
  • Experience working in the Syria Response and/or a strong demonstrated understanding of the country’s context and that of the wider Syria crisis.
  • Female candidates are preferred.
  • Eligible to work legally in Turkey.

Context/specific skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Knowledge of the context in Northwest Syria and the Azaz sub-district in particular
  • Good standing and reputation in the community
  • Experience working with local partners;
